Welcome Young Earth Scientists!
About the new and improved classroom website...
Dear students and parents,
Thank you all for your patience during the transition to the new, improved, simplified, and much more reliable classroom website. Hopefully this transition will solve all of the technical issues that were previously interfering with our learning experiences. Some things that you should know about our new site:
- This website will be used for both Mr. Hough's and Ms. Wood's classes. Both teachers' contact information can be found under the "Teachers" tab on the navigation bar to the left.
- Please refer to the "Calendar" tab for upcoming important dates including schoolwide events that may affect science class.
- Under the "Files" tab you will find important documents. Students may need to refer to this page for class notes and/or homework assignments.
- Additionally, there is a tab for interesting and informative science related links.
If you should encounter any problems with the site, please send Ms. Wood or Mr. Hough an email so that we can troubleshoot issues quickly. Also please contact us if you have any suggestions of things you would like to add.
Sincerely,
Ms. Sari* Wood and Mr. Adam Hough

About Ms. Wood...
Welcome to science! I hope to make each one of you as excited and passionate about science (maybe even math too!) as I am. As a teacher and eternal student I am a self-professed nerd; always hungry for new knowledge. I love to know how things work, and so my big hairy audacious goal for this year is to start a bonafide library right in our own classroom. My vision is to line the walls with books. For the next few eternities I will be collecting books and magazines on all topics of the natural sciences: astronomy, technology, weather and climate, chemistry, botany, zoology, medicine, physics, geology, mathematics, and biographies of scientists/mathematicians. If you are able, please make contributions to our developing library by donating new and used books on these topics, buying magazine subscriptions, giving a gift card to a local bookstore, or donating money to our classroom. Thank you in advance for contributing to my passion, and for enriching the learning experiences of our 6th grade scientists.
